Africa Region Looks Forward To A Successful Founder’s Day

In Nyeri, Kenya, on Sunday 21st February 2010, thousands of Scouts will gather in order to mark the Founder’s Day. Kenya is the last home of Lord Baden-Powell (BP), Founder of Scouting. The Africa Regional Office of World Scouting is also based in the east African country.

The event will be hosted by the local Scout Association in collaboration with World Scout Bureau, Africa Regional Office. Scouts from all over the world will mark this day in their countries, while many of them will attend the historical “Founderee” Camp in Nyeri.

Meanwhile, during the Founder’s week, there will be a “dry run” of the Moot (or Pre-Moot), in a bid to assess the level of preparedness ahead of the 13th World Scout Moot to be held in Kenya. This mock exercise will bring together at least 500 Rover Scouts. It will be held at Kaiyaba Scouts Camp, near Nyeri, and it will take place from 17th to 21st February 2010.
