Apart from weekly updates, I am currently working on a small scale project of launching a dedicated PPM Wiki for Malaysia Scouts Association/PPM in one of MSGP's subdomains.

For the proposed project, I have installed MediaWiki, an open source software for setting up a wiki site. The platform is very similar to the standard wiki sites that you can find in Wikipedia or Wikia.

The purpose of this project is to gather and accumulate scouting information related to Malaysian scouting, hence building a complete directory. Yes, I am building a yellowpages directory for Malaysian scouts!

The idea is to have sections based on districts, state and national councils accompanied with directory of camp sites, scout gear shop contacts, full pack, troop and crew listings with their website, email and telephone number. Also, there will be profiles of each article or write-ups. I will also introduce a section of scouting profile of prolific figures in Malaysian scouting.

PPM Wiki is basically an extension of what I am doing in the forum section in this site and the idea of the Wiki is to extend further in ellaborating more information to become one of the most ultimate resource for Malaysian scouting.

I would have initially done this in DMOZ where the Malaysian scouting section is where I am in charge of. The sad thing about DMOZ is, they won't allow me to 'choreograph' the directory styling the way I wanted as everything there had to be done according to their rules. Another issue is they won't allow mix up of Malay and English scouting sites under the same directory. Since Malay and English are both important in Malaysia, I will incorporate both flavours under the same directory.

This project is self-funded via MSGP using the resources available. The project is no way affiliated to PPM, as I am launching this project as a way of contributing my effort in Malaysian scouting.
